ABSTRACT

This research is an experimental study focused on the optical properties of the defect-structured ZnGa2S4 compound doped with neodymium. By doping the matrix with neodymium ions, high-intensity, narrow-band luminescence peaks are observed in the visible and infrared regions. Against the background of the broadband spectrum of the pure crystal, these peaks are associated with the intracentral 4f-4f transitions of Nd3+ ions. The results obtained from X-ray structural analysis and optical experiments confirm the fact that neodymium occupies the place of defects in the lattice.
